3月11日に東関東大震災がおこり日本中が津波の映像に息をのみました。震災後、札幌で開催された第48回全国大会のゲストスピーカーのお一人だったPadwad先生(インド）から以下の励ましのメールを頂きました。西堀前支部長が支部を代表して返信されました。

Dear Friends,
It was a great pleasure meeting you all during the 48th JACET Convention in Sapporo. I still carry very fond memories of the convention and my stay in Sapporo. I am greatly shocked to see the terrible disaster striking Japan last week. I am worried about your well-being. I hope you are all okay, and so are your family members and your friends. I hope you all will quickly recover from the catastrophe and will come out even stronger. We all admire the decent and dignified way you Japanese people are facing the tragedy. We are all with you and wish you all the well.
We shall be very happy if we can contribute in any way our tiny share in this moment. Please let us know if there is anything that we can do.
